Describe your writing in 10 words: Shit talking the oppressive systems in place but poetic like.
Describe the piece of writing/project you’re proudest of so far: It’s tough to be honest I have three out there/to be out there that I think are important to the mixture of communities I belong to. I wrote an article about re-building the LGBTQ+ community with disabled people in mind post-pandemic, an article about navigating disabled community when you are multiply-disabled and the lateral ableism I’ve experienced in those spaces, and one coming soon is my experiences of the UK mental healthcare system as a queer trans disabled person. Narratives I don’t often see published.
How do you get through writer’s block? Make it a game for my ADHD to engage with. Make videos about it. I did a 30 day challenge to write every day and I attend free/donation only writing sprints on zoom where it’s nice to mix with other writers and creatives.
What is the last thing you read? I’ve just started reading Cindy Pin’s sci-fi novel, Want.
What are you working on and where can people find you? I’m working on a queer crip romantic novel and a queer crip dystopian novel. The second is very scary as I never thought I’d want to write this genre but that’s what living in the now and being multiply disabled does to you.
